The impressive Cascada “Salto de Candelas” is the second highest waterfall in Colombia, now becoming the first, because the one that use to be the first is drying off, while this one is even scary how much water has. Also it is one of the most important natural reserves of the east Andes mountains. In this reserve the Cusiana river is born, one of the most important rivers in the state of Casanare. The area is considered as a cultural and environmental heritage site by the local government.

You will start the hike at 2.300 meters and walk through a beautiful and rich tropical jungle. The walk is not hard and very pleasant. The waterfall will be reached at an altitude of 3.100 meters with an average temperature of 23 •C.  The view of the waterfall is spectacular, owesome and will definitely fill you up with special energy and joy.

The Salto de Candelas watefall is located about 70 kilometers away from Sogamoso, on the way to Los Llanos (Yopal-Casanare. To get there, either with private or public transport, you will have to pass through three different Eco Systems, Andian Tropical Forest (around where Finca San Pedro is), go up to a Páramo (almost 4.000 meters), and finally desend to a Tropical Jungle  where the trek to the waterfall starts. Once you are in our finca, we can provide you the exact information how to get there and put you in contact with local guides for the trek. The rate for this adventure will depend on which guide is available for that day, how many guests will join and if its with private or public
