Iza is a small colonial village near Sogamoso. In the native language of the Muiscas Iza means “the healing place”, which we believe refers to the thermal springs found just outside the village. Iza has a beautiful main park where on Sundays you can find lined up stalls selling pies, typical desserts, puddings etc. Although the town also offers a beautiful range of local products made of wood, perfect as souvenirs, most people visit Iza due to the medicinal hot springs. So why not give yourself a treat and enjoy the pretty village, the green hilly landscape and the pleasant hot springs.
